An article in that week's TV Times said Joint Promotions ran 280 towns and employed 350 wrestlers, earning up to £350 a week. It said the average wrestler began at 18, retiring at 33, and travelled 30,000 miles a year, while half a dozen wrestlers were forced to retire through injury each year. Promoter George de Relywskow said the crowds were strongest in Scotland where there was less televised wrestling.
